3,000+ lbs. of Food Donated
While the inclement weather kept folks from walking our food to the Tacoma Dome, it didn't stop folks from coming down to help load it into trucks and delivering it to the Emergency Food Network!
Over 3,300 pounds of food was donated by the attendees of LET'S PLAY! Sports and Fitness Fest. When the trucks arrived at the Tacoma Dome prior to the Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration, volunteers with the Emergency Food Networks were overwhelmed by the quantity.
Thanks to Zeb Hornbuckle and Scout Troop 598 for providing the Food Drive management. Zeb and his team collected the bags of food brought in, kept the high school donations separated and then helped to load and unload the food at the Tacoma Dome. Way to go, Zeb!
Also, thanks to Fleet Feet Sports of Bonney Lake for providing us with bags to pack the food into. We appreciate your support of this great portion of our event and look forward to working with you again next year!
